As a Dutch boy, I often went on my bike to Soesterberg AB from my hometown Utrecht to see the F-15's  flying . To read this site it still reminds me, that I met a lot of nice American soldiers during my highschool days !!!  Best regards Martin van den Berg.

Comments:Some great times were spent at Soesterberg and traveling around Europe.  Dave, Stephen and myself went back for a European Vacation in 2004, -- showed Stephen the hospital he was born at and where we used to live and got to visit with Father Scholtens.  Soesterberg housing and area sure don't look the same.  Suzette and Sarah now live in Texas they each have a girl and a boy.  Stephen just graduated college and is living in Boston.   Hi to everyone

I was there when they got the F100 . I packed the chute that a pilot Named "MO" used to Bailout of one. Think he also lost our "T-33".
I went to North Africa for 6 weeks Gunnery. Have pictures of a Beach Party before we left there. I made A/1c while there. I was with the 32 FDS in the parachute shop along with John Reardon and Arther Knolls. Lot of good memories of the 18 months I was there. I would love to hear from anyone that was there during that time.

Comments:Man I sure do miss Soesterberg. My tour got cut short, I had to take a humanitarian assignment back the states to mbe with my dying Mother. I had a blast. I used to live on the west end in the old 2 story dorm across from the BX and it was next to the gym. I played for the football team while I was there. I live in Tampa, Florida. I'm retired now I see T.J. Payne who played too and worked at the hospital. Big up to Steve Jones (clinic) and Nate, and Big O (Orson) I know everybody remembers Pinocchio's club and that other Hip-Hop spot in Utrecht. Long live Soesterberg!!!

Comments:My son collected those little metal airplanes some years ago that cost about $3.00.  I could never find an F15 for myself until yesterday, 25FEB09, it has a "Wolfhounds" decal on it and on the tail is "CR".  I've never forgotten the 32TFS tail designation and I still can't believe I found it.  I just googled 'Air Base Soesterberg' and here I am.  I loved 'Camp Nasty Ass' and spent my entire enlistment there... I would have re-upped there except that the 31651L AFSC was phased out.

I know I signed on here several years ago, but was just thinking of Soesterberg and decided to look up this website again. I was AMU OIC back in 1989, did that about a year..went on many deployments..ended up as CRS Maintenance Supervisor. I used to drive a little red Nissan pickup and would meet the deployments when they came back with cold Heinekens and fresh made chocolate chip cookies! I sure do miss all the good times...hard work and hard play! Miss the Shoarma's for sure!  I went on to Bitburg for 3 years, then on to Spangdahlem. I'm now retired after 25 years, working civil service and raising dairy goats (and making soap) on the side.  My husband and I were blessed with a daughter when I was 42, and she's now seven years old!
