My Family all loved it at Soesterberg because it was by far the best assignment we ever had. I am proud to say that I was part of the mission there and if I had it to do all over again I would. I will always have a place in my heart for Soesterberg AB, all my American and Dutch friends, and the Netherlands. Doet!!

This maybe a bit strange but i am looking for Ben, Will and Nick Smith. They were at my school and Ben and Will were my classmates. Their parents worked on the base. This was around 1991 and 1993. I thought they were such nice boys and I would like to know how they are doing right now. They are probably in their twenties now. I am also looking for two younger persons who would be round 19-21. It is a boy and a girl. Her name is Soncheree and his name is Jeremy. They were afroamerican and my younger sister was friends with them. I know for sure that she would like to get in touch with them to. So if anyone has any idea how to get in touch with them i would really like to hear from them. It's a long shot I know. But it is worth a try.   Greetings, Angela

This was the best assignment and kept secret of the US Air Force. It was nice to see some old names I recognized. We were very fortunate to have had a wonderful four year vacation in Holland and can look back on all the memories with great happiness. The children are all grown, Andrew, Ashley, and Aaron, two born in De Bilt hospital.
The community of Soesterberg can never be recaptured, but I am trying a venture into a new career as a DODEA teacher.

I worked in the engine shop on the J-57's which was used in the F-100's. I married a Dutch girl "Janny Van Leur" in 1959 who worked in the Spitfire Cafe from 1956 to 1958. My best friend and Best Man at my wedding was Kenneth CR Johnson who worked in Ground Comm. I wish I could find him. If anyone knows his whereabouts can you please send me any info. I live in Houston, Texas. I remember the TDY's to Tripoli. They weren't much fun. If anyone has any info about the men in the engine shop during 58 to 60, please let me know. I would be happy to hear from you.

I loved the place and the people.  My brother Pete Eidson worked at Commissary and married a girl from Ziest.  He was inducted in the Air Force at Camp New Amsterdam.  The school for elementary-9th grade was opened the year we moved to Netherlands.  I miss those times there and Doorn.  This was the best place we were ever stationed.  My father enjoyed his stay there.  As far as I was concerned, he was the best cook the Air Force could have. I surely do miss him as well.

Have to say it was the best assignment, I did cross train into Loadmaster and ended up at one base after that Little Rock AFB Ar, I flew all over the world from there and even ran into some of you in that time frame. I am still going at it in the Texas Air Guard full time. Anyone figure out where the heck Glen Brimhall ended up?

They say you can't go back and I am sad to say they are right.  I went back to NL in 2006 and visited some of my old haunts (ones that were still there) and it just wasn't the same without Blake, Lee and the rest of the CWA not there with me. I kept looking for Mela to walk in or Mayer asleep in the corner.  I heard Atomic Dog on the radio the other day and the first thing I thought of was playing football (#69) and going to the club afterwards to listen to Master G. Being a part of the CNA Experience was truly a high point of my life and I will always look back at them with a slight grin.  Would like to hear from those who remeber those days and would like to catch up!

CNA was my first base. What an awesome time!   Jay Louge was the flight chief along with Jimmy Gockel.  Played a little football also but we weren't that good.  I remember losing to Spang 73-0!  It was alot of fun.  Anyone who remembers me, shoot me an e-mail.

My wife and I both loved Holland and miss the community feeling of the small base. We brought back 2 of the best souvenirs, our boys, now 18 and 20.  They have both talked about returning to the "motherland".  We will check back for reunion info.
